Hello everyone! I was in the home from 1990 until I
graduated in 1998. After that I graduated
from Oklahoma Christian, and now I work in Social services. I'm married to
a great man named
Souljar Mills, and I know I could not have had this life without the home.
In particular, my Mom
& Dad, Mr. & Mrs. Ridenour. They were always the best people, and they
certainly got me
on the right track. There were so many others who touched my life along
the way, and I thank you
as well.

My mother, Billie Sue Haynes and her twin, Betty Lou were placed in the
orphanage when
they were small and lived there around seven years. I think they may have
had other
siblings there also. This would have been in the 1930's.....do you have

I don't remember exactly what year i was in Tipton but i
turned 7 there and i'm 16 now..
Mr. and Mrs. Sheets were my mom and dad there. I loved them so much and still
do.. But my
resources tell me that they do not work there anymore. I just wanted to say that
i love
what you are doing for the children and keep up the good work. And if you have
any
information or pictures of me and my sister ashley clarkson and brother james
clarkson can
you point me to them so i can remember a little bit more..

Hi everone,
I just wanted to say that the home is a truely awesome place. I was placed
at the home
when I was 16 and only stayed about a year but it changed my life and my beliefs
for the
better. I am now married and have children of my own and only now can
truely appreciate
the faith and values that the church and my house parents instilled in me. For
any of you

planning on comming
to this years homecomming unfortuntally I over booked our schedule. My son has
his first
Cub Scout campout the very same weekend. We plan on attending next year. I am

Its good to know that I am not the only one who remembers all the great times
experianced
while living in the home. I see the names of several people I remeber. I want to
say thank
you to all of the people who were part of my up-bringing while I lived in
Tipton. The
values and morals I learned from you have shaped who I am today. I am married
and have 4
children of my own from ages 6 to 16, and have served in the Military now for 18
years.
Hopefully we can make a trip up to Tipton this easter as it would be nice to
visit home

I lived at Tipton Home between the years 1962 and 1966. In '66 i joined the army
and
went to Viet Nam in '67.
Over the years I have often thought of the time thst I spent
at Tipton Home and the
friends that I made there.
It took three times, but i finaly found the right woman. We
have been married 27
years. We have 1 son and 3 beautiful grandkids 2 boys and 1 girl. Now I'm
passing on to
them the values gained at the home.

Well I'm well into my way of round two in Iraq. I've been training and going to
school now
for about a year and a half for the military. I am now in Ft Bliss TX getting
the newest
training out(what works what doesn't in present day Iraq) Its definatly a whole
other game
from what it was last time I was over there. but I'm going to have all my boys
with me and
I trust every one of them with my life, they all know what they are doing. I've
been out

Thank you so much for taking care of all the little children
who don't have anywhere else
to go. My grandmother (Daisy E. Jones/Russell) was the eldest of six that the
Tipton Home
took in when she lost her mother in 1926. She always telling us stories of her
time at
Tipton and how much she learned to appreciate the little things in life because
of the
good foundation she was given there. Grandmother passed away last Friday,
October 19th at
the age of 95. Thank you again for putting her and her siblings' lives out on
the right
foot.

i have been doing geaneology research and found your wonderful site. my
grandmother,
Betty Mae Refntfo, stayed in this establishment after both her mother and father
died from
miners consumption. i read your history page and to hear the wonderfullly
detailed
stories, gives my family and i all peace to know that grandma did not suffer
needlessly
and that her tragic loss was replaced by a family far greater than she could
have ever
