I am the great great neice of Sol Tipton. I have been researching the history of
my family and admire what Sol Tipton have done for humanity. I have just found
the hard cover book "the Tipton Home" on Amazon.com. I have ordered it. Any

I've often thought about the Tipton home throughout my life. Me, my brother and
my sister, all lived there for a short time in 1978. Such a long long time ago.
My first house parents were Mr and Mrs Carol, they had a daughter, my dear
friend, named Cynthia. I wonder whatever happened to them.

My little brother,sister & myself were there from approx. 1945 till late 1947 or
1948.
There was the large main building and 1 or 2 small buildings behind it. A large
grove of trees to the right of it. We walked to church in Tipton every
Sunday. I would have
been 7 to 9 years old. I am now 72.

Enjoyed seeing information about the Tipton Home on Facebook. That led me to
this website. How nice it is to see and remember all the names from the past of
classmates and friends at Tipton High especially those from the Tipton Home. I
meet people all over Amarillo who are familiar with my hometown because they
support the Tipton Home through their home church... See everybody this coming

My mother was Cleta Geneva Maudlin and she stayed at the Tipton Home in the
early 1930s.
Along with my sister, I am anxious to visit the Tipton Home who so generously
took our mother in years ago. We will always be grateful. She was a good
Christian woman and so was our father who moved her to Iowa in the mid 40's
after they married. What a wonderful thing you continue to do. You obviously
have a big influence on youth and I'm sure there are many stories untold. God

Well hello again everyone! It's been a long time since I been on here but I
figured I'd let everyone know what's going on. Things have gotten a little
better in my life. My kids are growing up like weeds and my husband and I are
having some problems but I believe they can be worked out. I've been looking up
any people on Facebook who were in the home from 1998 to 1999 so if you fall
into this or know my name just look me up on there or drop a line to my e-mail.

been for you all I would not be the person I am

This home is a big part of my family history. Sol Tipton was my grandpa's(Ray
Tipton) uncle. My grandpa talks about Sol and this home all the time. My sister
